HI, I’m Warwick Maloney, I have been an Exercise Physiologist since 2011, I’m based in Forster on the NSW Mid-Coast. The bulk of my professional life has been in rural private practice clinical environments, and I have always gravitated towards the musculoskeletal elements of Exercise Physiology care. I’m interested in movement based musculoskeletal healthcare. I support people’s health, wellness and rehabilitation, if you’re experiencing setbacks that are stopping you from enjoying what you love, lets collaborate on some active approaches that support your goals. I enjoy collaborating with people as they commit to a process of improved health over time. These types of clients need evidence-based guidance and a cheer squad, and via semi-regular check-ins, I enjoy supporting (and cheering for) them as they work towards their goals. I have a wholistic health philosophy, we are unique individuals with goals and life experiences, and these should always play a role in our healthcare. And while exercise and physical activity are a big part of my work, I am also interested in other ways of engaging positively with our physiology, such as spending time in nature.

My expertise is built on a blend of clinical knowledge and practical experience, having worked as a nutrition practitioner, pharmacy assistant, and blog writer on nutritional topics. My approach emphasizes evidence-based strategies to promote wellness and guide clients toward healthier lifestyles, while my background in pharmacy provides me with a well-rounded understanding of both nutrients and pharmaceuticals. I hold a Bachelor of Counselling from Griffith University and am passionate about guiding individuals toward healthier relationships with themselves and others. Using a client-centred approach and a blend of therapeutic modalities such as ACT, CFT, SFBT, CBT-E, and MI, I tailor my support to each unique journey. Fluent in both English and Spanish, I am committed to providing inclusive and accessible care for all clients. My 30-year career in hairdressing revealed my passion for understanding and supporting others, which led me to pursue counselling. Transitioning to a support worker role, I gained invaluable experience with complex mental health clients, developing psychological flexibility and effective communication skills. At Goodna Street Life, I expanded my expertise in alcohol and drug counselling, embracing opportunities to contribute to the community. My background in assertiveness and cross-cultural communication has equipped me to navigate diverse cultural norms and foster positive relationships. My clinical interests include trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, domestic violence, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), self-worth and self-esteem, eating disorders, women’s issues, men’s health, relationship difficulties, mood disorders, personality disorders, and NDIS counselling. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where individuals feel safe to share their deepest concerns.
